THOUGHT FOR MAY

I LET MY LOVE FLY FREE
I let my love fly free.
Opened my Heart and trusted, it would come back to me.
I watched it rise, and dance and soar,
Across the Heavens, to the door were angels stand in silent grace,
I saw it gently touch their face, and softly spin a thread of gold, and dangled perilous and bold until it fell with flawless ease,
Upon the backs of silvered Geese, who flew it further out of sight across the shadows of the night until they landed on the shore,
Of desert heat and sandy floor.
The game went on to great delight, of sunburned faces shining bright,
As Love descended on their brow and kissed the hands which held the plough, and eased the pain of aching bones and softened skin calloused by stones.
Upon the winds it fluttered high, a kite of Love, into the sky,
And broke away to explore,
Potentials of another shore.
Amongst the trees and mountains high, my Love was seen; a shining light, a wondrous, magic, brilliant thing, to open hearts and make them sing, to tease and laugh and open wide, the Love that others hold inside,
But fearing that it may be lost, if given freedom, at what cost?
They hold it tight and pin it down and make it small and dull as brown.
Yet my Love , free as it may be, will always be returned to me, and when it comes it brings me more than I could ever dream to score, and feeds my Heart with all it needs, to grow and learn, and share its seeds of all that lies within a Heart that knows its freedom has no part in slavery or prison cells, but open doors and endless wells of joy and hope and trust and Light and knowing that my Love’s alright,
and every time I set it free; it always will return to me.
