THOUGHT FOR JUNE

I wanted to give a very special, celebratory gift to my husband Martin, to honour his commitment to his new workplace here in Nottingham. The whole acquisition of this particular place has been a series of magic, miracles and trust. Martins brief to the builder was simply “Magic; attunement ; inspiration”. That is exactly what has been created.
In turn, I gave those same words, plus the number of the building 331 and the symbol of the triangle to Dave Greenhalgh, a Mason who is able to work beyond the surface of the stone, to carve and release its gift and its song. I left the whole creative process in Daves very capable hands and waited until the stone was ready.
I was overwhelmed by the result, a simple yet profoundly moving “anchorage” for Martins intent, a cornerstone for his workplace and a declaration of one mans Truth through another mans creativity and Mastery of his gift.
Was it that the rock already held the words within it, and Dave, as the artist had the sensitivity and intuition to find that rock and release those words? Or. . did Dave have to find a rock capable of holding such a statement and bring the words into it?
The stone now sits anchoring the new space, its beautiful vibration and blessing touches everyone who enters the building and is the last thing to be passed on the way back out.
